About me
Hi friend, I trust you have come here to know me more than a quick bio. Here it is: I was born in Iowa, raised in Oklahoma, and moved to North Carolina when my husband Josh and I started our own family. Who lives in my house? My husband and I, our two children, and our two dogs.
I am the oldest of six siblings living in the Midwest. As one of six, it taught me much about "going with the flow" within 13 years. "Holding on with Open Hands" was a way of life.
As a child, I spent most of my time exploring the acreage home. No stone or stream went unexplored. Here, I found my love for the outdoors and all creatures that encompass the earth we share. My family shares my passion for nature. We feel most ourselves outdoors. But, not to confuse you, I am dependent on indoor plumbing and air conditioning.
Daily, I wear many hats. This is humorous personally because hats are one of the items most gifted. I love them so much that I have a decor "hat wall" in our guest room.
Of the hats I wear, the most important are wife and mother. However, these titles were the most challenging and unnatural for me to accept. Growing up to climb the ladder, I never thought my full-time focus would be at home, but what a life it is. Like every job, it has its super highs and incredibly low lows. But, as my family grows and these tiny years are fading fast, I am so unbelievably glad to be here. To all my mothers out there, you are the people that make the world go round; cheers to you.
Outside of motherhood, I write not only for myself but also for my church women's curriculum and contribute my work to other ministry publications. If I am not writing or on a long walk with my dogs, you can find me volunteering at my son's school or coaching High School volleyball.
Hopefully, you feel you have gotten to know me a little better. If you take one thing away from this site or the words I write, it is that you feel the love of Jesus. He loves you, wants you, and pursues you daily.
