What fills you with joy?
If your new year coincides with a season of a “hard-fought hallelujah,” like Brandon Lake’s song, I can give you one token of encouragement: the hope of heaven fills our hearts with joy, no matter our circumstances.
January first doesn’t erase the daily struggles or seasons of hardship we endure.
It’s a new opportunity to reset with a fresh mindset, but what we experienced on December 31 is still with us on January 1.
Life doesn’t disappear with the new year. We are a collaborative story of seasons working our way with and towards Jesus.
But that’s real life. Whatever was yesterday that is still true today is still your “hard-fought hallelujah.”
We all have these daily good opportunities to let go of control and live our lives with Jesus.
There was one scripture my grandmother used for her funeral. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.”
2 Timothy 4:7 NLT
She was a mother of four boys. Wife and business owner. She fought hard hallelujahs daily.
But she did it with Jesus.
In the brokenness of this world, our hard-fought hallelujahs are worth winning the good fight.
The new year might be the old you continuing, pressing through daily difficulties, towards Jesus, towards the hope heaven offers us.
xoxo,
Coley
